Restoration - heavily damaged

I found this restoration quite challenging, so I thought maybe some people here might find it interesting to practise on as well. It was done for some random guy over at reddit.

Original: http://i.imgur.com/waddS.jpg
(yes, he only gave us a jpeg to work with)

My final version: http://i.imgur.com/4HfHW.jpg
(Worked on it over 4 days. Quit happy, as it's my first real attempt at something like this.)

A very nice restoration IMO. You have kept the image still showing its age but eliminated all the major and most of the minor damage as well. Nice piece to practice on thank you

That's a pretty good work! I think restoration is the most difficult task to do with a damaged old photo... You did great...

Re: Restoration - heavily damaged

That is a great attempt...nice work. you have done brilliant especially in jpeg. if that was for a client they would be impressed. I think it needs a few loose ends tidying minor scratches. nothing major at all you probably dont need to worry about it.

I am a stickler to detail and too be honest my own worst enemy.

But you have done great with the pic

Also, quiet days at work :P

- There are some minor things I would have liked to improve on, but at some point you just have to call it done!
