Help with large white marks.

Hi, I've played around with this picture and the white spots in the hair are my main problem.
I feel I've lost too much detail in the face using topaz denoise, and if someone can put me on the right track on repairing this I would be very grateful.
I have Photoshop CS5 plus Paint Shop Pro 5, old but a goodie.

Rather than try noise filters perhaps you would be better duplicating the layer and working on removing the spots with combination of the Patch tool, Healing Brush and Clone tool. Slower than trying to use a filter but will not loose the detail.

Another option is to use the Photoshop Dust and Scratches filter with modest amounts - you may want to mask to protect the face

Thank you, I was just thinking the same thing after reading other posts on masking to leave the face alone, Going to try it now.

I used the content aware tool and just filled it in...but I argree that inorder to do a nice job you do not want to do anything that is going to affect the face or the details in the face
