Buying digitized old damaged photos

Hi All, I am looking to buy some old (30's, 40's, 50's, 60's) digitized photographs which would be faded, torn and generally damaged. I need these in order to have material on which to practice restoration. I've been given sound advice to look at antiques shops and flea markets, and I will. At the same time, if you know from where I can buy such soft copies I would be pleased. If you have any yourselves, please set a price and I can pay through paypal.

Thanks!

Rather than spend money on practice restorations have you tried a google search 'old damaged photographs' then select Images only at large size ? - you should find thousands.

Also look here in the Archive and Challenges section for many pieces to practice on.

You might find what you are looking for in the library of congress images:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/Library_of_Congress

http://www.loc.gov/pictures/

**On the .gov website, click on a collection and then click the 'view all' link. Some of the collections, such as some in the Farm Security Administration have very large files (25 mb.tiff) available for download, though most of those are in better shape.

If you can dig up old photos in the attic or in a rummage sale, you can gain the benefit of learning how to get better information from your scan.
