How would I fix this photo?

Hey guys,

Brand new here. Just wondering as to how i can fix this red streak on this photo using photoshop cs5.

Welcome to the forums Andy

The Blue Channel looks like it has the least problem and most detail left. I would:
- take a copy of the blue channel and make it a pixel layer.
- Burn the highlights with the Burn tool down where the stripe was until the luminosity looked natural
- Add original image as Layer on top set the blend mode to Color
- Sample nearby good colors and point over the areas that have the wrong color
- Optionally, if the background is not important, totally replace it with something appropriate for the feel you are trying to achieve. This could also be done earlier in the workflow to minimize the amount of work with the Burn Step.

Hope you don't mind me modifying your image to show the approach. Had a couple extra minutes at the end of the day so just followed my steps above. Used a laptop using a thumb wheel drive for selecting and painting so no doubt it could be a lot better than this example using a mouse or tablet:

From my step by step text instructions I gave in my first post on your thread, are there specific areas with which you need help? I could target specific feedback pretty easily. If a more step by step tutorial with screen shots for the whole process is needed I might not get to that for a couple days. Let me know.

I applied "targeted" curves adjustments (using values/numbers).
The gif sample shows few of them (a file size constraint).

If you cant handle by your self..I suggest to go a Photoshop experts.I know that there's a lot of Photoshop are now in market.
