Unhappy Red dots on sisters photo...:( help

I am working on restoring some photos that my sister doesn't know I took...hehe..but this one really has me bugged because there are red dots on the most important part of the photo...arrgg...

did not fix the entire picture. removed the red dots by blurring the red channel 3.2 pixels. used noise reduction software, then added back in some noise, adjusted the levels and then a color adjustment.

The red dots look like chroma noise, which any noise reduction program should be able to reduce to the point where they're not objectionable. Then some careful use of the Polaroid Dust and Scratch Removal program, and a bit of color correction. A bit of sharpening could be added too.

I used the noise remover filter to remove the red dots, healing brush tool for the with dots and Nik Software plugins for the sharpening & color adjustments.

I blurred the red channel slightly, did some noise reduction, cleared up the remaining speckles with spot healing, levels, colour correction and finally added some noise back into the photograph.

If you want it to be truly lossless, the only way that I've found to work is going one by one. It's pretty tedious though.
