I am seeking some advice with a problem I am coming across again and again.
From time to time I am restoring image damaged by water. Sometimes the images are not actually marked, but the paper or card has become cockled.
I try my best to flattern them using a heavy lid scanned but I don't wish to apply any fluid or heat as some of these images are valuable or iriplacable. I simply can't risk doing any futher damage.
Most of the time I end up with a scan that I can touch up using a range of different methods but every now and again I come accorss an image (on a gloss paper) with a lot of detail that is much harder to get a good scan result.
I have uploaded a recent example here: http://www.racingpuma.co.uk/rp/example.jpg
I would be very interested to hear what method you think would work well for restoring an image damaged in this way.
Thanks for your time.
