Help! Found an old album with mold....

Help! I found an old album of my mom's from when I was little.

It's got some mold and many of the pages are stuck together.

I was hoping to try to salvage the pictures or at least be able to scan or take pictures of them.

I am not sure how to start. Do I soak this in water first and hope for the best?

Or perhaps just get it damp and see what happens?

It the old type of album where you used to use the black pockets to mount the photos to the paper.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to repost this in the History, Conservation and Repair forum on this site. Lots of knowledgeable folks visit there. Also, you might want to search there prior to posting. Something in the back of my mind tells me that this situation had been previously discussed.
