Restore recently burned photo(s)!
A couple of months ago my dad's house caught fire from a heater and thus alot of his stuff were burned. But lucky(?) him some of the drawers protected (well, mostly) a bunch of photos from his younger times - he values them greatly and really would like to find a way to restore those photos.
Here's a small example of how many photos that were burned (but not to a crisp):

There are more photos (both B&W and in colours) in worse condition currently stored away, like you can make out of what was/is supposed to represent (object, person, animal etc) but have no idea how to restore to it's, if not equal to the rest of the photo, former "glory" to it's earlier condition.
I played around with gamma and such, but the results was not too my satisfactory.
Any good ways to restore burned photos digitally? physically? (chemicals or whatnot) Anything that might help is very appreciated.
Re: Restore recently burned photo(s)!
Well the this can be restored digitally. First scan the photo or photograph it so there is no distortion. Next in this case you can desaturate it to turn the photo into a black and white photograph and then work on lightening up the darkened edges.
