5 minute job and not too bad I guess. I used auto levels, HSL, color balance and channel mixer.

This might help.
rsinbad, you get the thumbnail by going to advanced instead of post quick reply. Then manage attachments and uploading your image. The limit for size is 100k (I know) So use the save for web and devices function in PS to reduce the size of your image.

The size of your pic should be a 100 & if you're a patron 200.
I would work with colors a bit more using selective color adjustments.

Wow, very nice Chillin! I kept getting close but I kept ending up with flaming yellow hair or blue lips.

Re: Red tint on 30+ year old photo

Seeing as how most of the original is more of a duotone, getting the flesh tones back is about impossible. Keeping it as real as we can, without saturating and making the tones completely different, the best thing you can do is start with your white balance and black / shadow tones. This will bring the mid tones closer. I did that with a basic curve, in each color channel, just like Tony. From there, I used Selective Color to balance the whites, so they weren't all red. Then some simple "Replace Color" moves to bring a little tone into the flesh, and then pump up the flatness a bit. Having adjusted the whites and blacks, it brought some much needed contrast. That's about all I did here. 5 minute fix. Again, because of the duotone effect from the colors fading so bad, in order to keep it somewhat real, I had to keep it looking kind of vintage. It's much better than it was, but you can only do so much with that much color loss.

Auto tone
Auto Contrast and color

duplicate layer

new layer adjustment layer shadow/highlights. bump up the color correction

duplicate layer: color balance, shadows

lots of selective color adjustments on various parts such as hair, skin, eyes, and clothes

blurred the background a bit

top it the whole thing off with color balance
