Re: Restoration Help

Something like this may be helpful.
1 Curve with mask for the white shirt
2. Channel mixer adjustment selecting Black & White with Red filter from the Custom drop down
3. Dodge layer for the check shirt
4. Curve for the head of the right hand man
Obviously still a lot of work to clean up but hope it helps

Re: Restoration Help

Well this appears to be a b&w photo. So open the photo and examine the individual channels. Notice that the red channel is the best. Use this channel to convert to black and white. Thats what I did with no retouching at all. It makes it a nice place to start on your restore project.

Re: Restoration Help

I went a convoluted different route.

A bunch of adjustment layers... Color Balance, Channel Mixer, Black & White, Selective Color, till I got a purplish looking Picture.. Then a Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer Using Colorize... finishing with a good White Balance a bit of healing and here it is..

Philbach, Wish I had looked @ the Red Channel FIRST!!!
