I'm not sure exactly what you mean...

One thing you can do is to use the Color Sampler tool (in the same slot as the Eyedropper tool on the tools palette). Select that tool and then click anywhere on the image (you can select up to four points). Then look in the Info palette and you'll see the RGB values displayed. Now if you do a Curves adjustmentor adjustement layer you'll see that the display in the Info palette changes to show original value/value if you make this change.

If that's not what you wanted to be able to do, can you explain in a bit more detail? My brain is feeling confused...

Leah is right.

A curve does not have a value per se. The curve is applied to every pixel in an image, unless you use a layer mask. How much each pixel changes is determined by the curve itself.

So, if you pull the middle of the curve, the midtones will be affected. Those with values closest to the point you pull will be the most affected. Those further away, less so.

Cheers,

Mitch

It's hard to tell exactly what you're trying to do. But if you want to, for instance, change a specific reading of the red channel from 128 to 142, you can simply open the curves dialog box, select the red channel, then click anywhere in the box. Then, where it has the values for input and output, you can change the input to 128, and the output to 142 just by typing the numbers in the boxes. Hit OK, and the change is made.
