She has great looking eye's, but your lighting, and camera are doing the proper justice for them. Her skin tone is also great, but without the proper lighting, your not going to get what you need.
Absolutely, agillette. This photo is not suitable for reworking to a pageant pic. Wrong angle, wrong focal distance, wrong light, wrong crop. A photo fit for the purpose of reworking to a pageant pic requires high key studio lighting. Probably with 3 or more light sources. I.o.w. a pro set up.

Dont know why WTF. I agree with getting proper photos done. and about the angle lighting etc. the angle makes her head look too big for her body. Even when I was working on the pic, I wanted to draw back a bit not be so close.
She is a beautiful little girl and with the proper photographer you would have a fantastic portfolio. and a shoe in for a win!
We can photoshop here til daylight and then come but we cant change the angles and such.

Thats what I mean by needing a photographer to do her photos. Photoshop can only do so much and can not change the angles or the expressions.

MBChamberlain that is one of the greatest description of how to do a portrait I've ever read. In the old days we'd go for the black cameras and the quitest possible to make the work transparent.
