Re: great style by jill greenberg

I have been trying to figure this technique for years now and I have come up with my own.

This is my portfolio

www.paulbyun.com

and here's a link on my blog that describes how to achieve this "painting" look

if you like what you see, feel free to subscribe to my blog!

Thanks

Sure there is a ton of post here, but the key to this style is really the lighting.. I've experimented around and you can really get this effect with 2 silver umbrellas at 45 degrees + profoto proring 2.. Ring flash is KEY here for even lighting.. Take a look at the eyes in her photos.. 2 umbs and a ring.

Post is mainly contrast + burn dodge and background manipulation.

Fix your lighting conditions and it will make post much easier.

Re: great style by jill greenberg

If I posted a picture here would anyone be able to try doing the Jill Greenberg effect to it and post there workflow?

I hope I'm not asking too much but I really like how fred_nikons turned out but no matter what I do I cannot achieve this look. I'm starting to think I'm not beginning with a good enough photo.

EDIT: Shoot I just noticed I resurrected a very old post. Please disregard

Hey dvbear. Don't worry about the bumping the old thread. Just post up the original and what you turned out with and we'll all take a look at it and give you some tips.
