So I spent a few hours on this, using Dodge & Burn, Dust & Scratches, a bit of healing to take out her top, and a whole lotta elbow grease.
You can take a look at his first post to see what she was looking like that day (her top, her headpiece and hair, her make-up, etc.) and get an idea of what I started with (they were very similar.)
She has great eyelashes!
What does everyone think? It's my first attempt at this type of retouching. |
OHHH!! i have been looking through and this one is the best!! she looks very beautiful here, but did you get other shots with the shoulders/chest in em? that helps too |

so what i did was:
improved skin tone (i didnt completely remove all of her pores cause i feel that it always make people look awful. like two eyes and a mouth floating in a sea of orange mush)
made her lips more red
added more eye liner
dodged her irises
added blue eye shadow (might be a little too whorish...but whorishness is the new black)
changed the colour of the bandana to blue
increased the contrast of the bandana
changed the background colour to blue
increased shadow levels
i think thats about it
any comments would be really appreciated as im still new at this.

Almost all of the results here are more than I could hope to achieve; however, I prefer the submissions from LQQKER and TheVeed.
Photo art or pure canvas artist, both seem equal to the eye of a great photographer. Maybe we just use the same monitor, but I call it Outstanding! |

it seems like you used the smudge tool on her skin. very rarely this is the best method. try using the clone tool. |

thnx craig | i love the blue blackground. definately makes the whole image pop. id probably lessen the orange/red tint of her skin- seems a little too unnatural.
and sometimes adding a slight blur to the skin makes skin seem softer rather than fake. |
