the de grunge tutorial is very nice with getting some smooth skin, but sometimes using the degrunge tool I tend to get areas in the face that are light and dark...that bugs me...anyone care to shar how I'm messing up with the tutorial??? or do others here get the same thing???

How'd u do the background? It reminds me of a high school photo, and I wanted to re-create one for a friend. I just left my glamour retouch challenge's background as white.

girlfriend makeover

here is my version, i smoothed out her skin tone, changed her eye color that's always something small that can make a big difference, arched her eyebrows, gave a her a nose ring (she seemed to have this certain "attitude" about her so i thought that'd go good with her), gave her skin a little more color, and intensified the color of the scarf on her head...that's about all, but i think it turned out pretty good..hope you like it

Good call on the nose ring. It just works. I liked her with brown eyes, more, though, it seemed to fit better.

My Go, hope you like, I used the basics of the DIOR tutorial although I prefer the more natural look.

I like red colours with dark hair so I changed the scarf and the lips.

Talking

I've been wondering through all of this how his girlfriend has been taking the makeovers!

I created another one of my "fun" makeovers (I gave her Gila monster skin and a leopard skin top), but I'll only post it by request ;-).

Here is another attempt. Superkoax was kind enough to e-mail me some different pictures of his beautiful girlfriend, and after looking at them, I thought "why not just go for it, just go overboard." I was using one of those hair ads as an example, the ones where the girls are so very retouched, and while you can still see pores, you know that she doesn't look like that in person. So I spent a few hours on this, using Dodge & Burn, Dust & Scratches, a bit of healing to take out her top, and a whole lotta elbow grease.

You can take a look at his first post to see what she was looking like that day (her top, her headpiece and hair, her make-up, etc.) and get an idea of what I started with (they were very similar.)

She has great eyelashes!

What does everyone think? It's my first attempt at this type of retouching.
