Unhappy How do i get more details/texture on the skin?

Hiya guys,

This is my first post in the forum.. I am not sure if anyone has posted
something similar to this. I hope someone out here can help me figure out
a solution

1. How do i get more texture/pores on the skin ?
2. How do i achieve this bronze looking skin tone ? seems pretty similar to
the wet skin tutorial in retouchpro but i am not too sure.

Pictures from www.dbem.net

Somehow with the pictures i have .. its seems pretty possible to achieve
the desired effect

1. i suspect that the way the subject is being light up. Its too flat.
2. there isnt enough skin details to work with (shot on hasselblad and
the latest leaf digital back ... can u believe it ???)

anyway here is the attached image i am trying to achieve

Thanks guys ~ !!

Howdy,
Well what I do to bring back more skin details is duplicate the image in a new layer and sharpen the heck out of the new layer and then drop the opacity down untill I reach the desired detail. Hope this helps.

one way to simulate skin pores is to select or mask the area you want with pores.

copy selection to new layer.

use the 'add noise' filter to fill the selection to the desired amount (i used gausian noise on this one).

then i used a very light, opacity 1, gausian blur on the selection layer.

set the selection layer to blend mode 'luminance'.

use the eraser tool if you also had the eyes and lips as part of your selection and erase those areas on the selection layer.

done.
