HELP! please...faces

Hello folks,
My trouble in this photo is the faces...I would like to be able to bring them out a little bit but have tried duplicating layers and it didn't really do it. If you guys have any tips or tricks I am all ears...thanks

Those are the photos....also, if you don't mind commenting on the restoration so far, that would be great.

Chris

I'd run a highpass layer at approx 2.6 based on posted resolution and set blending mode to overlay, and if more detail required then run another one and mask out softer bits, good restoration so far

faces a start

Well I took your original and noted that the blue channel seemed to show the best detail in the faces. I copied the blue channel and used levels on it.

Later on if you wish you can put color back into the photo.

Also a fairly steep "S Curve" in the 3/4 tones will help. You can reduce the additional yellow that this might cause with a Hue Saturation adjustment in the yellows.

using your final image:

clarify filter at 3/4 strength.

contrast/brightness adjustment layer. 0 bright, 20 contrast.

hue/sat adjustment layer. lowered saturation on master layer.

craig
