PS work or just good lighting and makeup?

Hi all

Hello to everyone here. Just joined up and have been looking around and I have to say this is a wonderful forum. Everyone seems really geared up to help each other. Glad I bumped into it!

So to my question. I am pretty new to photoshop work and really admire the work of this chap

http://www.desireedolron.com/

What i was wondering is: in his art section(2 boxes across middle bottom) he has work called xteriors. The girls in there seem to have perfect skin in a mild porcelain color. Also the photo seems to have an odd tinge of colour which I cannot figure out. The second section GAZE seems like it is underwater work? Would he have photoshoped the backgrounds in? Or used some water proof material?

Sorry for all the questions but I am ful of ideas but not sure how to go about doing them!

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

many thanks

Chris

well, thes pictures is very good...the lighting is good, but the post production is what does the trick here...the colours are very low and the skin is very white...so he definately have worked the pctures in PS...how he's done it? Well, ask some of the good old guys in here...

I would def want to learn this...it's this kind of style I want to create as well

I thought it unlikely that someone with the name "Desiree" would be a chap. I checked. She isn't. Interesting work, in any case.

Re: PS work or just good lighting and makeup?

Thanks all

Dkcoats: Yes your right. I am not familiar with the name so in my haste to look at the work neglected to chick her bio and just presumed.

Hmm no one seems to know how she would do this? I figure maybe some white makeup and then some photoshop work after, like smoothing out. I have been playing with the idea for a day but have nothing concrete to offer at moment. I have a girl doing a shoot for some other stuff next week and I also mentioned i wanted to try some experimental stuff after the main shoot, so I will see what I can come up with.

If anyone else can shed some light (no pun) on how the effects were achieved then I would really appreciate it.

Thanks all

Chris

Hey Christian,

I googled for 'desiree dolron retouch' and came here http://www.showstudio.com/forums/13978/11846/11916/msg

Why don't you ask MultiFakeInc about her technique and share it with us?

I am still curious.

I think what is meant by that is that the pictures have been manipulated so much that they no longer resemble the models used to create the 'base' photograph... unless ofcourse, they're not photographs at all.

As for the underwater thing - just because the model is underwater, doesnt mean the photographer is

NancyJ/Galavanmoskou

Thanks very much for your info/advice.

Not sure whether I believe that thread about her work taking years to do. Realistically would you even be botherd to go on for that long?? I mean thats a big chunk out of your life when by that time you could have some fancy software do it for you! hahah No idea though. Maybe she did.

The underwater one looks fun to try out also. May have to get the girl next week in the bath! hahaha

I will carry on searching and post anything I find, maybe even contact fakeinc and see what they say. I guess the worst thing they can say is bugger off. But hey, you dont until you try.

Any more info and advice as always would be welcome.

Thanks again all!

speak soon

Chris
