Thumbs up New Portraiture plug-in (glamour retouching)

I just got ahold of the new Portraiture plug-in from Imagenomic. Portraiture does a fantastic job with detail smoothing and softening skin tones (with only skin tones specifically isolated for processing if desired!).

If you're interested, there's a 20% discount available via the link above.

Re: New Portraiture plug-in (glamour retouching)

for me th e result isn't very pro...think they want to go after the private users and not business users here...the result looks abit blurred and it doesn't remove alle of the blemishes and spots...But a nice plugin to go for the fast solution...I do think that de-grunge tutorial is abit better than this,...

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Gerry,

These were only a couple of quick examples at my particular settings and squished for the web. There is a whole lot of flexibility in Portraiture, so you can easily have less softening.

Why not a 10 or 15 day trial like many plugs?

Re: New Portraiture plug-in (glamour retouching)

The plugin works great!
I ran one of the forums images on an earlier thread, indicating it was a one touch clean..its a great start (sometimes its all it needs) when cleaning up an image. I think its great...see the silly eye thread.

Re: New Portraiture plug-in (glamour retouching)

Skydog, on their website it says:

"Plug-in Trial Editions

To use an Imagenomic plug-in edition on a trial basis, please download the respective product from the list on this page. This is a fully functional copy of the plug-in, with the exception that the final output image will be watermarked with gridlines. If you decide to purchase the plug-in product, Imagenomic will send you an activation code, which you can use in your trial edition to unlock the watermarking function and use according to the terms of our End User license."

I think you could do the same thing using Lens Blur or one of those already in Photoshop.

Re: New Portraiture plug-in (glamour retouching)

Plugsnpixels,

Thanks, I missed that point.

Thus far I've read two of your newsletters and it does appear that you enjoy testing and using plug-ins. Thank you for sharing your experience. I was wondering why you haven't created a rating system, in your opinion, as to the value of the plug-ins you have tested? I've found some are worth the investment and others are not, but I certainly don't have evaluated the number of plug-ins as you.

Smile Re: New Portraiture plug-in (glamour retouching)

shelby, it's possibly true these effects can be duplicated in Photoshop, as can many others offered by plug-ins. The question is, does a person have the time and/or experience? Plug-ins exist to make production more efficient and effects more controllable. And sometimes they create unique effects not seen elsewhere (KPT and Redfield plug-ins come to mind).

skydog, yes, I do love the plug-ins! Always have. And thanks for checking out the ezine. Get 'em all--they're all free!

I've seen other sites that do rating systems and like with movies, it seems so subjective. So I decided to display each product on an equal footing (screenshot, custom examples and vendor ad copy) and let the visitor decide, based on their particular needs and preferences. Demos are usually available, which helps in the decision-making process.

Talking Re: New Portraiture plug-in (glamour retouching)

It depends on what I'm doing, but for general image enhancement and editing I tend to fall back mostly on LucisArt, Alien Skin products, iCorrect EditLab, Digital Film Tools products, Kubota actions and 1-Click actions. For fun stuff there are a lot more choices! Redfield, Twisting Pixels, etc. etc.!
