Photo Nostalgia

Pulled the "old Calumet 4X5" the other day for a friend who wanted a Dark Portrait. This was done using type 55 pola neg. I think that I would have taken 500 shots with my 20D for the time it took me for this one. I know that my neg is dirty and the scan far from adequate, but I still enjoyed the exercise. This also reminded me that the photographers we admire the most still use a lot of film. Just sharing my nostalgia.
Thanks

Alex

Re: Photo Nostalgia

Thanks Cathy. I Like it.
Adding to my theme, I shot this tonight...an interesting take on the evolution of the media.

Re: Photo Nostalgia

Is the photo you posted completely untouched already? It's beautiful as is.. I don't think it needs a thing. Unrelated to photoshop, but I have a (erm, my brother's) Nikon and I want to shoot some film.. Shooting some photos this weekend, so perhaps that's a good time to try it out..

Re: Photo Nostalgia

Aurora,
indeed this is an untouched negative scan. Have fun shooting on film and post your results.
