Glamour retouch!

(this tread was also in Critiques under the name: Glamour, First Attempt, im sorry if i make people angry about it??)

ORIGINAL IMAGE!(before)

its a Beauty make over, i give her a more female jaw, a smaller nose, bigger eyes, longer eye lashes, fuller lips, make her lips more symmetrical, perfect skin (so far is possible) and some other little things..

How would you do it?

lets me know what you think! thanks

COLOR everywhere, it's a mess
EYELASHES - too long, not real looking
HAIR - huge mess, including eyebrows.
LIPS - cmon now..
Neck lines - simplify
SKIN - blur fest
EARPIERCING - always remove hole if no earrings on

Overall - attention to details. Don't remove information - good. Add information that isn't in the original.

Okey thanks for the information. I will do something with it, but it is Glamour so what you say about 'EYELASHES - too long, not real looking' its glamour you know and thats just normal then so long eyelashes, and the color is did nothing with it, 'HAIR - huge mess, including eyebrows.' i dont do anything with it as only I burn the eyebrows a little bit. but thanks for the res of the information

Re: Glamour retouch!

well then in your definition 'glamour' isn't even retouching - just illustration.

edit: in your opinion, is an ad for Maybelline 'glamour' retouched or is glamour only reserved for the Sears portraits?

Re: Glamour retouch!

A cup of tea can work wounder

Here is a rough idea of some of the stuff i think "Ant" was talking about, thoue the hair is still a mess (the org pic is kinda that way so hard to do solve it) and i over did the blur on skin... and the eyes and mouth are a bit to shiny.. and so on and so on hehe

Well... the whole source image is a bit off for "glamour" imo... and way to low quality with all that jpeg distortion. U need pors to do a proper "blure"... so when u got a pic like this, a blur fest is kinda unavoidable. But hey... im no pro so..

And yeah... the skin still got some nasty body hair left *yikes* (and spots)... i can go on for ever :S But as i said.. its a rough idea of what I think "Ant" meant... some of the point at least :/ (right ant? or am i out on deep water?)

And hey, take it easy on him i really dident find anything offensive, just wise and helpfull advises. Dont take things to serious.... i just think the communication was a bit off, read it twise instead with a smile in mind.

Well.. i need to "glida till tuben" as we say sweden (stockholm)... going to the subway it is U guys have a good day/night (night it is here / where ever u r on this big/small globe.

Cheers!

I think thats great info, Ant.
I didnt catch your post before I did my retouch.. I wish I had. I would've fixed the ear, eyebrows and neck.

All feedback shouldnt be "OMG GREAT JOB". Its only through real critique that any of us will get any better.

So you can't decipher 2 out of 7 points he made?
Than means he made 5 you can figure out... not a bad ratio. Those 5 had value, too.

Not everything has to be a warm-hearted fluffy hugfest.

My critique of yours is that it looks like the face is a painting thats been pasted onto a photo. The hair and body look real, but the face doesn't. The eyes are over-done and look toy-like. The facial skin is over-smoothed.

ehm i dont know what you mean about the eyes because i only did the eyelashes and my sister has longer than that so.. and the skin if you can see is there skins texture, and yes the jaw is to much.. but i did the body the same way.. and okey youre right about that not all things have to 'warm-hearted fluffy hugfest' be but, it wassnt usefull what she sayd only on a other way if she had more information set on it you know...
