Re: is this ok?

superkoax,

would you mind if i used this image on another site, specifically the filterforge.com site? i'm making filters there and one of the filters i'm currently working on is a portrait and luminosity masking filter. your picture here is a good one to practice one and sometimes i like to display my results over there.

Re: is this ok?

Ralph,

The Dragan Effect that they are referring to is a technique of manipulating a portrait to achieve a look similar to the work done by Andrzej Dragan. Here’s his site:

http://andrzejdragan.com/

I don’t know how everyone here is going about achieving their particular results, but I have found some stuff that might be helpful. There is this 10 step tutorial that claims to do the trick (I personally don’t think that they got the Dragan look):

http://www.mutantsoup.com/10steps.zip

There is also an Action that you can download, but I have my doubts about it and never bothered with it. The best thing I have found is this video tutorial:

http://www.savefile.com/files/60502

Hope that helps.

Re: is this ok?

I love your image Gerry, I just had to try my hand at it.
In keeping with the style you are working to acheive, I just used a combo of layer blending modes and some masking as shown in the screenshot of my layer pallette.
