zone editing, ie, Ansel Adams

I still want to use a paint program for my final output but I want zoned landscape photographs, ie,www.fredmiranda.com, for my source.

Has anyone used "lightzone" from www.lightcrafts.com?

The alternative to a zone program like this is doing mult. exposure work in photoshop, which I don't know how to do in a short time frame.

Are there plugins or actions that would accomplish the same thing?

HI chauncey,FIRST anything this program can do you could most probably do in photoshopSECOND as with most imaging software there is a steep learning
curve,so you will still have to spend time learning and finessing in this other programTHIRD,you must have a working knowledge of the zone system
otherwise how would you know if this program is doing what it says
IN GENERAL,I have never used this program but i have found that you can do anything you want/need in photoshop
also there is no shortcut/quickfix to fine art photography

just my opinon hope it helps you

best of luck zganie

I agree with zaganie, there are no shortcuts. Also anyone who would put this in their site

"Easy to use — you can be a pro photographer in days"

is to be looked at very carefully.

I know that I can do everything I need to do in photoshop, but plugins and actions are shortcuts. That's what I'm looking for.

If you enjoy working with the Zone system, you should check out LightZone, a new image editor based on Zone system concepts. LightZone has a built-in raw convertor and a highly intuitive interface, You may never need to open Photoshop again.

To each their own perhaps
