Re: Request for examples of excellent work.

anyone else have the thought that this guy is just fishing for examples that he can use as his work? there is a buttload of high end retouching examples out there. Why come here? next he'll be asking for high res images for download...

just a thought.

Ant...

He did say..

>> I think it would be very informative for all of use - plus I told a would be restorer I would see what I could get together as prime examples.

Mmmm think he might grab some examples from others works and put them in his portfolio?

Nawww. Couldn't be.

Re: Request for examples of excellent work.

Jeeze guys - you almost made ME barf!
What did I do to deserve that?
What's the dirtiest part of the body? Obviously it's the mind.
Besides that, if I were stealing images and weren't worried about the legal or moral issues I sure wouldn't have to ASK for them.

Anywhoo - If you can get over your suspicious natures and give a newby a break...

I once saw a wonderful example of a Civil War era Restoration done from an image in the Smithsonian. I believe I was used as a part of a restoration retouching contest. I remember seeing at least two version of it and the super duper excellent one was from a RetouchPro member ( I think)

If that rings a bell with anybody or that really great work was yours I'd sure love to see it again. Other than that I'm really getting hooked on B&W these days and think I will dedicate one printer to quadtone inkset.

Phiegze

Sorry if I seemed a little short. The forum seems to be getting hit by "drive by posters" who come in make one post almost demanding help or information, they get their info then, poof, they are gone. Some ask for explicit, step by step, help on very basic skills, don't bother to search the tutorials or read their manuals. Some of us try to help and get no feedback or even a thank you. Perhaps you can understand why we are "gun shy"

Re: Request for examples of excellent work.

I have done work with Civil War images that came from the Smithsonian.
I don't remember if I actually posted them here...

But you can check my website.
