The overall effect is nice.
I think the skin would need some work. Not very flattering.

Re: My 1st attemp at dave hill look

if you mean THIS dave hill, i would practice compositing figures on different backgrounds, playing with depth of field and focus, highpass overlays, instead of airbrushing and smoothing

he's got a interesting hyper-real feeling going for him. things that are supposed to be out of focus aren't, flattens everything right out. richard burbridge does alot of the same sort of thing in his portraits and product stuff

I think you need to D&B a lot apart from blending the layers in various modes using High Pass.

Re: My 1st attemp at dave hill look

I am amazed that so so so many people are trying to copy that look that he has (Which I personally am really sick of and am not a huge fan) but... nobody ever even gets it close. Its kind of amusing to watch :-)

Re: My 1st attemp at dave hill look

The fact i've got closer to that look, sometimes i get better sometimes worse depends on the first shot out of camera, i used all the gear i can use [camera and lights] but then photoshop part is a bit not spot on, if i know how to use photoshop smoothly or expert enough then i can make that effect easily.
