Re: How to darken a picture!

Have you tried using Shadow/Highlight to darken the image, it may get you somewhere close to what you want.
It will darken
It will colour correct (I see you have desaturated slightly)
And you can adjust midtones as you were asking.

It could be a start for you.???

Re: How to darken a picture!

having looked at the other image I'd say you should look into PWL and mess around with colour layers and opacity

Re: How to darken a picture!

well, A LOT of answer here...I really appreciate you guys being there for me when I ask! Really nice! Thanks a alot!

When going trough the pictures here I really like the idea of some of them, but they really look somewhat fake! Myabe mine isn't that good either! but something in that area is close!

admirer: It's ok, the contrast is abit to high...

LonK: This looks almost like the effect, but the contrast is slightly high there...It reminds abit of Dave hill effect...

graphics: it's too red, the effect close up looks to fake for my taste...sorry...

PanPan: some weird colors coming here...maybe try working with contrast or color balance to get a darker feel..

chillin: background is a bit light...color banding on the wall behind model...

berwin: too much effect...it looks fake, I'm afraid...I get some 70's feel over the outcome...not a bad thing though...

handmadegod: Looks nice, the lower part is too dark...the face needs abit ouf touching up...

schlinky: overall feel is good too light for my intention...the frameing is very good though! I will try out aversion on my own! thanks for idea!

elohssa: Wow, total makeover...too fake for my taste...nice experimental version!

PeterS: have tried every level in H/S, but It always looks fake and tempered with...and the fac egets abit grey...

RAVEN: version 2 looks good...a bit more retouching to the face and the light!

schlinky: ab etter version this...a bit flat in contrast again

thank you everyone for trying this out! I have looked on your versions and got really inspired to try again

cheers

Gerry
