I found the best way to do it was draw a slection around the rig add motion blur and then levels to blend.

It's always good to hear that the 'poster' finds him(her)self the best or easiest solution to do the job.

By the way, I just noticed that there is still a reflection of the rig in the frontwheel. At least I think it is...

You was right there is a refection of the rig on the wheel base
