Re: Clone out rig

Richard.. I thought you were asking how to extract the car. For that the pen tool is probably the best choice, but I see you only wanted to extract the forground "boom/rig" thingy.

So, like others, clone the track area or use the polygon tool to select a vertical selection under the car (in a good area), put it on it's own layer, Free Transform etc. Use the smudge tool to blend the pavement.

Mine is a very quick touching. Definitely not my best work.

I thought that also. In the US, a large truck is called a rig.

Re: Clone out rig

I assume the "rig" was the long silver pole going out from under the side of the car? I used the patch tool, cloning, and healing brush.

Re: Clone out rig

Sorry UK here. Rig is the pole and the vehicle is a 4x4.

Thanks to everyone for their help. I have found the laso tool and then select in the middle of the selected area and move the mouse works well for isolated patches.

Re: Clone out rig

I found the best way to do it was draw a slection around the rig add motion blur and then levels to blend.

Hey, richardi... I'd have never thought to do it that way! Good tip.

It's always good to hear that the 'poster' finds him(her)self the best or easiest solution to do the job.

By the way, I just noticed that there is still a reflection of the rig in the frontwheel. At least I think it is...
