I see this thread is still alive and kicking. Does anyone know why Dave has stopped blogging? Photographyisrad is giving a blank page.

Thanks for showing the steps Mtmm... great composite work. Did you use the pen tool to composite or use some sort of complex calculations?

I can't believe this thread is still going Why doesn't someone put up a good clean photo for people to play with. Give it your best Dave Hill impression and if there's any thing that's even close then they can explain how they did it. Just a thought.

Joe

That’s what i am saying! I have been trying to go out and take a picture for a while now but have no time to even try. I have time to edit, as I can stop when I need to. Not to mention my lack of equipment... only two flashes (SB 800, 600). I’m going to have to also make a homemade ring flash.

I am going to have to do a long 30sec plus exposure with multiple groups of flashes each fired within the 30sec (making 2 flashes into 6). So I am going to need some knowledgeable man power to help move flashes during exposures. Also, I would have to shoot every object separately. Then, merge them all together in PS.

So if someone has some HIGH quality/resolution image(s) that we can all work on, please post. It would help those without the equipment to have a chance to actually try.

This is probably the one of the most thought out, planed, and executed to date! Did you plan it all out before? or just put stuff together from a lot of old photos?

I like what you did with the building and the car flame. Overall, you did a very good job. I think its your own style, not a copy (this is a good thing). As DH has a little more cartoonish. But i'd say is "like" DH.

Why did you crop the building I am pointing to? It does not seem you did anything with it in the next picture.

This was a job for one magazine, all shots taken for this one image.

Cropped piece of a building is attached to the left side of center building. It´s inverted and scaled.
