I mentioned above, that were no plans for acieving this effect. All pictures were made using the existing light.
I was just testing the dodge and burn technique and is quite easy once you get the ideea.

The problem any shots techniques in this thread will show that it is to replicate or duplicate DH, if it is on another thread or own thread then it will be a different story.

It is like a male wearing a girl dress and going to a women toilet and girls college and then he says: "No, i am not a girl, i am a man", then why you do all that to show as girls?
All shots here i will imagine they want to try DH style even they stating they don't.

Maybe I was missuderstood.
The shots were not ment to be edited with DH effect. In lack of pictures to play with, I tryed with these to emulate Dave's style.
Is something wrong in that ?

Just for fun....I'm throwing this one out there. Took this pic of my friend Erin last night. Kinda sorta maybe in a similar vein? :-)

I have stayed away from the dave hill look for a while, but since its been a while since my last attempt, i thought i would give it another go! really liking his new stuff and i have tried to do a bit of the old with a bit of the new.

(Larger view here: http://www.sambondphoto.com/Images/rtp/test01.jpg)

lit with 3 speedlights: 2 into umbrellas for rim/backlight, 1 into ezybox 60 above centre for key. Shot against a black background then composited onto HDR. Lots of dodging and burning!

Still would like to change a few things, but as this was a test i ran out of time.

Let me know what you think and if there's anything else you want to know just ask!

hahahahahah, that's really funny. good job besides that.

this is a composite right? because the in the subject you were apparently shooting upwards but it feels like you shot the background with a wider lens and the perspective feels off.
