this is a composite right? because the in the subject you were apparently shooting upwards but it feels like you shot the background with a wider lens and the perspective feels off.
your absolutely right, this is a composite, and the lenses and perspective are different! This is a test, and I shot the background ages ago with an 18mm and the model witha 35mm. The angle is different for both pictures, and hopefully in the next week I'm going out to shoot some new backgrounds with a matching lens and angle.

Beautiful shot Sam, but I don't like how you placed the model directly in the center of the shot, splitting the focus down the middle creating two equal-in-importance sides which battle the eye for attention. My eye goes to the model first, then zig-zags back and forth between the two sides while I'm trying to figure out which to look at first.

I think it would be more pleasing to look at with the rule of thirds applied to the model, besides that I love everything about it.

Nikon D700 + Nikkor 50mm 1.4 G + SB900 in slave mode with umbrella on to the right. Behind the model was a greenish "flood" light. Dodging and burning and some hue / desaturation, levels on some areas.

Some of us find it valuable. If you don't want to follow it, then un-subscribe.

Why would someone complain about a thread but continue to support it by posting to it. Something wrong somewhere.

hello everybody! im new around, and i wanna join your little chat about Dave Hill look.

the key of the look is the ilumination, you cant get the the color and the texture in some pics, because the ringflash and the lighting set up, do a big part of the job.

i wanna show you a some pics i made inspired in the hill look, but i put my own hand on it,

i dont quite agree that you support anyone by commenting, people would have to keep quiet for most of the time my whole simple point was that in the past like six years each time i visit this site every couple of months, it seems to be full of imitated attempts at crying babies shot against a light blue background and hiphop night street composites, the occult, the look, hundreds of pages, hundreds of threads, people who just seem to regret for years they didnt come up with it first? ;o) there are so many fresh new things out there nobody seems to mention here EVER, nick meek, ilario magali, carioca, mert and marcus, chen man er, whatever, arent you people curious at all? :o) no flame intended, so, back to work, keep the dream alive :o)
