Id much rather see a hand grenade rolled into page 40 of it and blow all 80 pages to internet hell, that would be much more satisfying. lol esp since nobody has even come close to getting that look anyways (which may be a good thing) hahahhaha

Give us a break! Many people like the style. It is photo hyper realism and can be overdone. . . That is AN art form. Let those that love it are entitled!

Hehe, I have tracked down the original lkroll has used and done my own things on it (hope you don't mind).

And now let's put on the helmet and bullet proof jacket as to avoid dying in garibaldi's next attack.

Yes; they started a thread at G'MIC which got me going again on this subject. Mine maybe a tad too metallic. lol

thread at Flickr (where the links are and a few more of my experiments): http://www.flickr.com/groups/gmic/di...7625738397752/

At the risk of going off topic - Christian, I went to your site and I'm quite impressed with your photography. It has a somewhat minimalistic feel and nice neutral muted colors. Dig it man. Would love to go some of the places you've captured. Cheers.

Hi all, first post here!!

I was playing around with an image I pulled from google images going for a DH kinda look, a bunch of D&B, noise reduction, selective sharpening and more. Dropped it on a background also pulled from google and tone mapped a little.

Here's the before and after, Let me know what you think.

Thanks Boneappetit. First, I will add, this result is more on the metallic side so not really Dave Hill. lol

Anyway, I used GIMP and linked the XCF (GIMP Format) file which is self documenting (very rare for me; lol). GIMP is Open Source (i.e., free) too. I do have Photoshop and use it to process all my RAW files, but I've more experience with GIMP (that's why I call it my crutch) since I've used it for over 9 years now.
