Well.. It's Saturday and I'm practicing 10 minute retouches :-) Here's another take on it... Need a little more attention around the right eye..

good job...i like how u kept it natural....i use 2 different computers so usually when i xsfer the pics onto my laptop to go online and post them here they look so different....i made her too tan and her teeth too white but i guess it could be worse lol

My attempt at this. Reshaped nose, left eye, chin, right cheek. Smoothed skin, lightened teeth, reshaped lips a little. Removed stray hair, and finally improved colour balance. Looks a babe now!

Enjoyed doing this!

Hello all. Ro, love your interpretation of the smiling girl. What did you do to her? Did you crop the image and enlarge her, I see highlights in the eyes , her skin is lighter, her hair is smoother and her face outline is smoother. What did you use to lighten her skin and give her that glow? Hopefully there's not a lot of mathematics involved... Tell

tell, my, you've got quite a sharp eye! Seems you covered just about everything:

1) Crop and Enlarge: Yes, I worked on the "original" sxc.hu image and cropped to put the interesting lines on diagonals and fitted to a "Golden Ratio" template;
2) Eye Highlights: Yes, I painted them in - also lightened the eyes and did a half-moon lighting on the bottom part;
3) Skin lighter: Yes. In LAB mode I like to work with the skin in the luminosity range 45-80;
4) Hair Smoother / Face glow: Yes. A plug-in I made - works a bit like the deGrunge in reverse (sortta "Local Contrast Enhancement");
5) Face Outline: Yes. Used Liquefy to eliminate a rather strange bulge on the outline near the right eye. (and smudged a small bulge under the chin).

I changed the background too - though you didn't notice that!

Ro, thanks for sharing. I recall Gary Richardson trying to teach me about the importance of diagonals and light. Although l understand the concept, im stymied by the process. Looking at your smiling girl i immediately go straight to the eyes. I bet thats got something to do with the diagonals. You're right l didnt notice the new background...like l didnt notice the missing necklace & bra line. Come to think of it there's lot l didnt notice. Well done Ro , really appreciate you sharing your talent and tips.. Tell.

Not a lot:

1) Darkened light reflection inside the nostril;
2) Coloured cheeks and ears;
3) Whitened teeth.
(+ a bit of deGrunge and Razor Sharpening)

I think that about covered everything now.

Had some spare time so further developed this. Added backdrop, tweaked colour, made eye highlights a bit more obvious as they got lost in my previous upload. Added some outside softness, corrected a little mistake on the chin.

Had to do something about the discolouration of the upper lip, the bump on the cheek and the thing that looked like a not so pleasantry in the nostril
