| Improving techniques Hi Everyone. *I gotta let you know about some unique resource of information that is connected with your (our : )) interests. Its .psd (Photoshop Solutionz for Deisgners) -the graphics magazine. If you look for INFORMATION instead of a good looking pages only, then this magazine is the one u should get familiar with. | Re: Improving techniques From the latest magazine: Wax model girls in advertising Firedog Agency Quite often in advertising, the photo you see is not the one that came out the camera! There is a lot of retouching involved in order to make the image attractive to the reader. The photo retoucher is like a digital make-up artist, fixing natures imperfections to sell the perfect product. For this image we have a model that is meant to look like a wax figure. Therefore a lot of the retouching is based on smoothing out the skin and creating drama. We use a lot of gaussian blurs and painting with a stylus tablet in this exercise. Sounds awesome. |

| Re: Improving techniques DJSoulglo, some smilies would have helped out - but I understand that your..."Sounds awesome" is in a cynical tone. The title says "Wax model girls...", the text says "..meant to look like a wax figure..". If they had said "Retouching" or "Realism" then you would be entitled to throw a ton of bricks at them, but as it stands the only valid discussion would be as which type of blur to use: Guassian / surface etc. Rô |
