From one extreme to the next...

My new goal seems to be the master of "fake"...LOL!!!!

I have a client that is wanting the sort of retouching found on this site: www.SatioPhotography.net.

The photos I am being given are good and clean but w/out extreme highlights. I suspect that is the missing element on my retouches. I'm making lovely, sexy retouches, but my client says they're not glamourous enough. I would submit samples, but w/out permission I'd perfer not.

Does anyone know how to achieve the looks on the above website via Photoshop. I thought I saw a thread once on it, but I cannot find it.

closest thing I know would be this tutorial that mimics Amy Dressers look, though they start out with good lighting...hope this helps

too me it looks like, they just use blurring for the skin, or mayb dust and scratches and some blurring.
I think the key to the "glamour effect" is the highlights try and make the extisting highlights in the pictures brighter.

Look at hands and feet. That's where the 'retoucher' stopped blurring.

yes, photos of glamour models given the standard post PS digital makeup, the blur mask, a little D&B, etc., no skin grain or pores showing through, the slick look. I see a lot of this work around and in magazines. True about some of the hands and feet where the blur mask wasn't continued. A pre-press master showed me some of these same techniques used on, shall we say adult DVD packaging. Each photo editor or AD has their staff work in a certain style which gives the particular look. All masking, curves etc, that most of us use from time to time.

Thanks, VERY useful! I forgot all about difuse glow! I had been doing edits in the blue channel and was getting a similar look, but without the softness. KEWL!
