what's been done here?

hi, i gave this photo to a friend of mine who is on holiday at the mo, he touched it up a little and i was just wondering if anyone can figure out what he did? help is appreciated, as always! thanx

Just copy twice orginal layer in screen mode and put on top bightness/contrast layer and slide contrast +30. Then you can play with D&B or smooth skin.

i would say levels/curves on the coloring part ...
