| | | Human Torch... Hey Everyone
There are so many talented people on here. I love getting advice from you all!
So, here is a picture of me. I was trying to turn myself into the 'Human Torch' from Fantastic 4!! Trying to learn how to use layers etc and build up a life like effect!
I think its come out quite realistic but can anyone offer any suggestions or play around with it to mkae it look more realisitic?
Cheers

| | | Ouch!!! :-)
The hand looks too big in proportion to your body to me and the claw like extended fingernails are distracting. Fire color is good. |

| | The flames have added significan visual size to your arm (dont worry, you're not a freak)
For aesthetics(I have no idea what it would actually look like to set your arm on fire ) I would go with larger, more slender flames, yours are very small and appear almost furry. http://www.criterionpic.com/cpl/imag...fantastic4.jpg |

| | | Hi Nancy, I'm pleased I'm not a freak!
I was using that picture as a reference but gave up when I was unable to get slender flames!!
I think thats my main problem, I get a little impatient and give up and settle for the results! Oooopsy |

| | | here's just one tip to go with what the others have said; remember, if your hand were really on fire here, there would be almost NO shadow, since the flame would be on ALL sides of your hand and casting light as well. hence the shadow would be significantly reduced if not gone altogether.
flame on, baby!

| | | plugin Alien Skin has a filter called fire. I love what it can do. Don't know how well it worked out in this pic, but it can make pretty realistic effects. Here's a five minute job I tried with it and the plugin. http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/6...ntorch16yb.jpg
The original picture looked pretty d*$@ real, though!
