Red face Re: Skin Texture In Fashion Images

urgh... only 19 and so talented!
I think a good camera, lighting and talent create textures like that.
I'm not even sure that has any photoshop work done on it (it might have but if you have good makeup etc it would require very little Photoshop).

I would love to know how to get a good texture too.. ie pores etc - I think Painters and artist would be able to recreate this affect well.

*sigh* I have a long way to go!

Re: Skin Texture In Fashion Images

It seems to me that the skin texture, in this case, is actually coming from the model and the make-up. The retouching is what destroyed it. There are smudges everywhere.

Re: Skin Texture In Fashion Images

i think this is good make-up. you can see the texture of the eye shadows - well applied. I once did a wedding shoot with a very good make-up artist that specialises in camera make-up and the texture was very similar. delight to edit - even freckles and blemishes were no problem because of good areas i could copy from.

Re: Skin Texture In Fashion Images

make up and lighting always makes for a good photo .. but nonetheless, editing plays a role too.

not sure what was done in editing, but if it was me, it would be all dodge and burn.

Re: Skin Texture In Fashion Images

Skin texture is what everybody has. The lighting in the image in question is rather sharp, and is the reason why you see every hair so good. The art is to preserve it during retouching. I.e. not to use any blur effects, and work a lot with cloning and healing. I prefer healing Also, don't forget, it is a closeup, so everything is seen even more.
