PhotoRetouch learning?

Hi, I'm working with photoretouch.

I learned all by myself.
I'm at a point I feel I need to improve my style and I'm asking my self how certain retouchers, I mean the best of the best, achive certain effects...did they done some super school or they just spent hours and hours with photoshop?

There is some school that learns all these super techniques out there?

Nope.

If there were, I wouldn't be at the point of gouging my own eyes out trying to get a certain technique to work.

I have been working on this one technique now...for 14 hours straight; and thats been since I have been awake today. I was on here all day yesterday.

Blood, sweat and sinful amounts of various stimulants leads to photoshop mastery.

Re: PhotoRetouch learning?

There's SVA, and if you have an undergrad degree, there's: http://www.schoolofvisualarts.edu/gr...id0=2&sid1=227

It's run by Katrin Eismann.

In reality, the best way to learn is by doing and reading. Most jobs seem to train people how to do it "their way", but you have to know your way around PS first.

Good luck.

Hey,

I'm in the same position. I'm a Design graduate and have been working in photography company doing design/retouching but now really want to pursue retouching as a career but have no idea how to go about it!!

THere doesn't seem to be any schools/courses, especially here in Aus! And all the obs want years of experience...
