Unhappy Re: Ok.. here is an unretouched shot of mine

Ok I am still having a problem here. This is what I did:
1) I opened up my image (background only)
2) I duplicated it then went to the channels pallette and created a new channel
3) It went to Alpha 14) I clicked on Alpha 1 to highlight it blue and I tried to drag it over to the layers section (nothing happened)
5) So I went to Select > All and with the Alpha Highlighted blue and nothing else in the channels pallette I clicked Edit>Copy
6) I then went back to my Layers Pallette with a BackGround Image and a Background copy.
7)The Background copy was highlighted only and the I clicked Edit > Paste
8) Now I have Backgound - BackGround Copy - Layer 1 with a black square in it and my Layer is set to Normal.
9) Now my image is covered in black what is next?

Am I doing this the right way?

Re: Ok.. here is an unretouched shot of mine

So here is my result, I'm happy that I'm a little close to Dave Hill look but at the same time I'm a little sad because now I Know that it's all about lighting and I don't have any equipments to achieve that look. Anyways I did this with Lucisart plug-in just use the sculpture mode step 1 mix 55. Just that not any layers, dodge/burn thing etc. Hope you like it
