Re: Portrait Retouch

to me it looks like you turned a woman who has lived some life into a 12 year old boy. It seems over the top for me. Maybe if you dialed down some opacities and brought back some of her character. It looks more like you wanted to practice skin texture replacement.

Re: Portrait Retouch

Actually I think you did well with the work on the skin.
Unfortunately the image lost something because the work on the skin was so "polished".

I would recommend that you try to keep the "character" of the person.

Just my two cents

Re: Portrait Retouch

the important question here was, What where you aiming for, if it was to give this portrait back to the client I would agree its a little extreme. However I find it a very nice retouch. Would you care to explain your steps? I would like to know what you did

Re: Portrait Retouch

  • convert image to lab-color
  • duplicate layer and desaturate
  • create new curve-layer and raise the curve
  • invert and edit wrinkles
  • thats it
  • to see results in color switch the layermode to luminosity

*Ive worked with a tablet

Re: Portrait Retouch

thanx interesting, never thought about inverting my proses for saturation (via lab mode) and do the same to desaturate.
