Colour Problem

Hi everyone! I have recently discovered the joys of Photoshop and thought I would have a go rectifying all my bad photography! However, I don't know how to correct this one with the lovely orange effect! Any suggestions would be gratefully welcomed as my knowledge is minimal!

Regards

Re: Colour Problem

One of our members Cameraken has written an excellent tutorial on this very subject which is well worth reading and may help you out.

Re: Colour Problem

Polar, This one will be easier to fix than the image in Ken's great tutorial. The green channel has even luminosity. Just duplicate the background layer and go Image>Apply Image. Choose the Background layer as the source and the Green channel. Make the Blend Mode is Normal and click OK. Now change the layer's blend mode from Normal to Luminosity. Finally add a new blank layer on top and set the blend mode to Color. Choose a soft brush and Alt+Click an adjacent good color and paint over the damaged areas. I literally spent only 2 minutes to put this sample together as an example. I did not paint with any accuracy.
Regards, Murray

Re: Colour Problem

Thank you, Murray, that is brilliant! I am ashamed to say that I have several photos with the same problem so I will be busy from now on!

Re: Colour Problem

First, I made some correction to the red channel.
After that I used many spots curves adjustments with masking to clean up the rest. I have also used "color balance", HSL & level adjustments.
I've posted the red channel that I started with.

Re: Colour Problem

Hi Polar

Not all the tutorial is necessary for this picture because the Green and Blue channels are Undamaged

I just repaired the red channel and did some colouring

Thanks for the recommendation Gary

Ken.

Re: Colour Problem

I also worked on the red channel. Then hue/saturation and curves.
