Automotive retouching portfolio, Steve Demmitt

I was browsing through the magazines today and came across a cool article featuring a young photographer that retouches his own images, most are composited. Featured in Digital Photographer Magazine, Issue #64. There's a photo of the article in his Blog , also the swat photo series on there is super cool.

His site has the finished photo's while his Retouching site has the before and after with the composites. Pretty cool stuff.

Adam, I think you've mentioned an interest in automotive retouching? Guys and their cars! Guess it would be a great field for an artistic guy with photo editing skills who loves curves and smooth exteriors - cars, girls in cars...

The car images are indeed nice, if a bit same-y looking. When there are no cars in the shots (the misc section) you can see that it's really not all that good. People are masked badly (the white car as well) and to be honest it really looks like he only knows how to create one image. Rinse and repeat. Good for him that he can make his money that way, but it's not the most interesting thing to look at.

Cool style he has. I do like the effect but agree they it looks like that style is applied to all images. Still nice work though.
