The idea is good but you copy the original defects and have way to much sharpening; when i read your post i think you was talking about something like the tip 5 named here: http://retouchpro.com/tutorials/?m=show&id=209
That is basiclly create skin detail and make the form modifications to mathc the shape of the face.

May be it is too sharpening, for me its look ok. I don’t think I copied all the defects from the original, just some of the original texture using, as you said, the same technique that is described in the tip 5, running highpass and masking everything but some texture in his cheeks.
Anyways it was just and idea.

I am not sure if your only showing your work on her skin and teeth but her teeth look a bit better but still not very good. Her skin looks yellowish to me -- much more so now then in the original. She also has no detail under her eyes, which is fine for maybe a child or young teen but to me it looks awkward in this pic.

And what about the MALE; the quoted part on my another post; in the girl for my the only real problem was the no detail under the eyes.
