Re: How to: "Christian Schmidt" Look

As far as I can make out there is no special magic in the AIM profile it is just a Triniton Linear gamma. The precise make up of the profile might be important for some uses but we are using it as a sledge hammer to lighten and desaturate our image. So if you can't find AIM on the web you can brew your own. It is not difficult but take care that you save it as per these instructions you don't want it to become the default working space.

In photoshop click edit and select colour settings. A large dialog opens showing your working colour space. Click the drop down and select custom RGB. It is usually the very top option.

Another box opens. Rename Ie to ChristianSchmidt change the gamma. You can use 1.00 but photoshop will go all the way to 0.75 which is even lighter. Change primaries to Triniton its a menu option under the drop down and click OK.

Nearly done.

The box closes and you are back at the main dialog. Click the drop down along side the RGB working space and select save RGB from the menu. Save your profile then cancel - NOT save the main dialog.

You can now assign your profile and follow the other instructions in this thread.

Why doesnt somebody call Christian Schmidt up and just ask him. His number is on his website. That way there will be no more speculation

Shit, no excuses for me...he is from Germany...But I have no idea what I should ask... Maybe a email would be less persistent?

haha, good so I don't have to call him? :P
No, serious...I'll call him, once I moved to Milan. But I have to write down what I want to ask him....What exactly do you want to know? I can't ash him:"Whats your secret?"....

I was half joking when I posted that we should call him, but if you really are, start off light, maybe ask him "Boxers or briefs?" try that as an ice breaker.

Re: How to: "Christian Schmidt" Look

It wouldn't do a load of good calling him considering he doesn't do his own retouching. But I'm sure any info from him would be constructive to the process.
