Application foto collar problem

Hi there,

I haven't been here for a while, out of business for at least a year...

Well today I had a photographer shoot an application-photo of yours truly and it's... well...

Problem is the collar, the shirt is too wide this making it hang loose around my neck and the collar is being bent to the outside and, well take a look!

I've been thinking a while, has somebody an idea how to fix it?

P.

Re: Application foto collar problem

Hi Patrick,

I gave it a try; however, I will start by saying I am not a professional retoucher, but it was an interesting project.

I started by selecting the collar part on the other side and then horizontal flipped it. I used the warp tool in Photoshop cs3. Did some painting, healing brush. I am sure the experts could do a much more refined job. Even the perspective might be off some. However, some improvement.

I went back and changed the angle of the tie a little.

Re: Application foto collar problem

I think the liquify tool in Photoshop would be my choice.

Also gave it a try using Chillin's suggestion with the liquify filter. Much quicker. Not sure why I didn't start with that tool.

Another version

...I raised and slightly centered the tie.

Re: Application foto collar problem

Yes, to all of you! That's exactly what I came out with. But the part between tie and the "wrapped down part" (no idea what it's name is) of the collar is still too loose and and bent outward. And that's where I got stuck

Re: Application foto collar problem

Made a couple of selections of the collar and used the warp tool. Some cloning and shading to edges so they didn't look so sharp

Re: Application foto collar problem

Here's another tactic for your consideration. Search around for another photo from which you can "borrow" the shirt and tie. For example...

Re: Application foto collar problem

Thanks, Murray, amica999. Just wanted to suggest another alternative to the manipulation methods offered. In this case substitution seemed to be a quick and easy resolution to Patrick's problem.

Re: Application foto collar problem

Hello,

Used liquify tool, masking, D&B layer but LonK's solution is the best method IMHO.

Regards,

Storm
