Re: Please help with sun damaged skin

Boneappetit, if you upgrade your RP membership to Patron status your limit will increase to 200KB.
If you have very large files, downsize using the PS algorithm for size reduction then resize to approx 6x9" at 72ppi.
If you need to post a higher quality image to communicate you problem or point, try cropping a representative sample area of the image. If you need to post the whole image at high Res, use one of the many free web sites to store your image and post a link to it while also leaving a lo Res copy in your RP thread.
Regards, Murray

Re: Please help with sun damaged skin

split the texture out the image
inverse and relax the texture
couple of soft Dodges
exposure to brighten up the skin + same desaturation

Hi Murray:
Thanx a lot for the info. this is very practical... But I just noticed something else... If I download frommel's picture and put it on my desktop, the picture is 100 kb alright. But this picture is actually big, and it has high resolution. Rephrasing my question: How can this be done? And another thing is, if I take this same picture and open it with Ps, then saving a copy as is, no process involved, the copy turns out to be bigger, I mean more then 100 kb, is this normal?

Just a little selective coloring, color range and dodge and burn

UPDATE: Never mind Murray... I just found that I need to save "for Web and Devices" oppose to save with the regular method.

frommel, this upload is only for test purpose, I just want to check if it works... I applied just a bit of surface blur to the image.

Thanx again for your feedback Murray.

Re: Please help with sun damaged skin

Boneappetit, you should not need to use Save For Web and Devices. Were you using Save or Save As? Even if you are keeping the same file name, you should use Save As because that is where you choose your compression level / quality level (from 0-12) and you get to preview the file save, whereby you just keep lowering the quality until you achieve the file size you need.

Murray, I just meant, save for Web and Devices only when I want to upload a picture here in RP, not for my regular works. In fact, using save or save as, won't let me upload as I want it unless I smaller the pic too much, and that was exactly my point, making pics that small, nobody can see the work done with it. Take a look at my last upload, that is all I wanted to do. Your info is very important thou... i really appreciate it.

You don't have to do that, just like Murray said, you can use "Save As" and adjust a file size.

Re: Please help with sun damaged skin

Hahaha... I guess we are just going in circles here... Guys I really appreciate your feedback,

Feel free to visit my gallery at DA (signature link) and you can check my work there, (I'm not a pro, I'm just a rookie at the technique) I know I still have "a lot to learn", but they are not bad for a rookie. Those works are saved as (jpeg).

Re: Please help with sun damaged skin

Sorry about all this guys. I just noticed that the "get info" on my computer is showing wrong numbers, much bigger than the one Ps shows at the save or save as. On the other hand I could learn from your feedback... Thanx again and sorry for the inconvenience.
