But if there's anything plastic, it's that you've smoothed out her shape too much. Not smooth in the sense that it's usually spoken of so disparagingly, with blurring—you've kept some decent texture—but you've lost most of the distinguishing curves along her surface, particularly around the eyes and cheeks and her forehead. What you need to do now, once you've gotten all the imperfections removed, is figure how to selectively return some of them, maybe just a hint. Usually the instruction for wrinkles is "Knock back a bit," or some such, rather than remove all trace. The problem also shows up at the corners of her mouth. There's a slight indentation and curving at the point where her lips come together, almost a grin, that suggests an actual expression, as in personality, a touch of ironic humor. You've lost that.
Decent technique, however. Just give her back some life. |
