photoshop smoke effect tutorial

hi,

I have tryed to do this effect but if just doesn't seem to work. my only guess is that my starting image is 4000x4000 pixels is too big???

Hi Purple

i have a tutorial at home that i will take a look at any post something so you get on the right track.

I know you can free transform it and also change the layer mode to overlay possibly , i could be wrong ! but i will let you know in the next day .

Here is my attempt at the tutorial i did change the shape to a long thin shape
and on the wave box dialogue i had more luck when i selected the triangle as type
but then repeated the wave and fade wade steps lots and lots and lots (get the idea) of times

Fun though'
i think i have seen a smoke tut some where will post it here if i can remember where ! ! ! !

There are on internet some smoke brushes that make the effect perfectly.

Ive uploaded the smoke brushes for you on rapidshare.this are the ones i use, they are great and very detailed.An example here.
