I like it like that. Nice colors, angle - looks good.

Re: Does this have potential?

Hi Brandi.

I agree with you, the model's face and the way her hair covers her face looks great in this shot.

Your retouch is solid. It does not look over-done and it enhanced the original nicely.

Here are a few things to consider, all of which I incorporated in my version of the retouch.

Darkening the sky is one direction to take a photograph. Darker skys seem to make the model pop-out more and compliments skin tone nicely. I think it works well with your photograph.

The white scratched area above the model in the interior room is distracting. Also, she has some white highlights along the right-side of her dress that are distracting. These are just little flaws that detract from the image.

Her dress is a little over-exposed and flat-looking. It's understandable because it is so bright and white, but I think it looks better with some added shadows.

I hope that helped.
Keep up the good work.

Thought I'd give this one a try as well. I tried removing some of the distracting elements in the photo (like the wires and the bright spot in back of the barn). I also tried to put a bit more emphasis on the face, and I blurred the background to better separate the figure from the background.

James,

which blur did you use? In photoshop for blurring large areas I would lean toward the LENS BLUR with Octoganal(8) with high radius. It gives a closer natural blur than a gaussian blur does.

Re: Does this have potential?

I used a DOF map to get the background out of focus.
