Does this have potential?

I think this shot has the possibility of being great, but I just don't have the skills to get it there. I've messed with curves and saturation, but can't get it to look right. Please show me how good it can be and how you got the results. This is the straight from camera shot. I'll post my attempts when I get one worth showing.

Oh, and I'm using Photoshop 7.

Thanks!
Brandi

It's a great shot, but the eye doesn't buy it because of the fill flash. The bride should be more silhouetted against the background and the interior should be darker as well.

This is my attempt. What's right/wrong? Give up on it? I just love the way her hair is in her face and the look she's got on her face.
Thanks!

Re: Does this have potential?

you guys..... sure like to experiment..

What I'd do is lighting adjustments, also you can get a more cinematic, color balanced feel with hue/saturation and only lowering the saturation a little bit

or in color balance, lowering the cyan on "midtones"
